Why is the mime holding a plunger?
Those were the first words I said Tuesday morning -- some days you just know are going to be a little odd from the start. I had turned on Mr. Rogers for the kids and in the Neighborhood of Make Believe there was a mime standing near the museum-go-round holding a plunger. Never really caught on to the plot. My point is, sometimes things just don't make sense. Case in point, the following from the TV listings. Clearly, this is not quite the movie I remember.

I am familiar with the phenomenon of which you speak--that some days are just doomed to askewedness from the beginning. A workmate and I sometimes exchange what we call "Morning Thoughts": the first semi-coherent thoughts of the day which, neither discernibly dream-related nor tied to reality, don't always make a whole lot of sense. When a really good one starts the day, said day often never truly recovers. Some examples:
"If a band's got a girl playing rhythm guitar, well, goddamn it, she'd better be good."
"They didn't need to always call it 'ice-planet Hoth' in [i]The Empire Strikes Back[/i--it's not like there's a 'desert-planet Hoth' to confuse it with."
"If there were always washbasins by their beds, I bet night-court judges would be on time more often."
You get the idea. Why IS the mime holding a plunger? Indeed.
