Yesterday was a good knitting day
Yesterday the stars aligned, or maybe the fibers aligned <giggle, sorry.>, and lots of pleasant knitting related happenings were sprinkled throughout my day. Nothing huge, but I totally enjoyed all the little surprises.
First, I treated myself to the current Spinoff magazine. I guess that really doesn't rate as a "surprise" as I was fully aware that I was purchasing a magazine but it was still a happy event all the same. It has lots of fun articles about fiber and a clever pattern for knitting lined mittens.

The new Knit Picks catalog arrived in the mail. It's always a good day when a yarn catalog arrives.
This wonderful skein of yarn also arrived in the mail.

I actually won it for submitting some suggestions for names for various yarn lines to A Piece of Vermont. Not that my suggestions were so outstanding that they warranted an prize, but Jessie at A Piece of Vermont was nice enough to toss my name in a hat just for emailing her and I was chosen. Cool! The sock yarn is lovely -- my picture really doesn't quite do it justice. The colors mix between a soft copper and a rose and the yarn base of merino, bamboo and a pinch of nylon is rub-on-your-cheek soft and will knit up to show texture beautifully.
And lastly, I finished the back of Aidan's sweater. The Sirdar pattern (though lacking schematics) was easy to follow and went off with out a hitch.

It was a good fiber day <happy sigh>.
