We just returned from our family vacation and we had an absolutely wonderful time!  (We burned all of DH's frequent flier miles to get there and most of his hotel points while there.)  Can you guess where we went?



Oh, yeah.  San Francisco, California. 



Why, yes, that is Alcatraz out in the bay behind my lovely children.



We hit all the major attractions. (Although as DD#2 pointed out, the bridge is orange, not gold.)



Cable cars are very cool and interestingly, quite loud.




Yes,  we did sing The Song while on the cable cars.  (Like the poor driver hadn't heard that before.)




And the streets in San Fran are just as heart-stoppingly-hope-your-parking-brake-works steep as advertised.




The redwoods are big.



Really, really big.




We had beautiful beaches all to ourselves. (Beautiful though not terribly warm.)




And the Monterey Bay Aquarium was 4 days worth of awesome.

Of course there was knitting and many more vacation pictures which shall be blog fodder for days to come.
