Morning surf scarf and a new project decision

I finished my morning surf scarf in time to be delivered to the August Genesee Valley Handspinners Guild meeting.  What does that mean?   It means that my morning surf scarf will be displayed along side all the others at the Finger Lakes Fiber Festival in September -- kind of my first public showing.

Here it is getting the snot blocked out of it   rigorously blocked to make it a bit longer.  I had about 220yds of my own handspun yarn made from some merino/sparkle top from the Wool Peddler.  It ended up measuring about 11in by 47in which is long enough for a comfortable wide scarf to tuck down in a coat when winter winds start a-blowin'.  ("A-blowin'" ?  Channeling my great-grandma today, apparently.  Next I'll be making  corn pudding for supper.   I really do remember my great-grandma making corn pudding which like any recipe featuring eggs, butter, sugar and baking until caramelized was wonderfully tasty.  And also like many 19th century recipes meant to stick to the ribs....for days. )

Finished object shots...

Artfully draped over a chair.

Close-up!

It's very pretty, very soft and I'm very pleased with it.

So onwards to my next projects.  A bit of indecision hit as far as what exactly I wanted to work on next, so out came the ball winder and I did some winding.

Hmmmm...so much potential.
